Meet the Team of FES Cyprus

Resident Director

Prof. Dr. Hubert Faustmann is a Professor of History and International Relations at the University of Nicosia and has served as Director of the Friedrich-Ebert-Stiftung Cyprus office 2011. Professor Faustmann was Editor-in-Chief of The Cyprus Review (2006-2016) and currently co-authors the annual Cyprus reports for the Political Data Yearbook of the European Journal of Political Research. His expertise focuses on British colonial Cyprus and post-independence Cypriot history and politics.

Program Manager

Elisabeth von Bach serves as a Program Manager at the Friedrich-Ebert-Stiftung’s Competence Center on Peace and Security in North Africa and the Middle East, Cyprus Branch. Based in Nicosia since 2023, she manages regional peace and security initiatives. Previously, she worked at the German Center for Integration and Migration Research within the Expert Group on Democracy, Transfer and Policy Advice, as well as the Communications and Executive Office, and interned at the FES Greece and Cyprus Office.

Administration and Events

Anna Tsangari has been working with FES Cyprus since August 2022. She serves as Office Administrator and is responsible for financial coordination and event organisation. She has lived in numerous countries abroad and has extensive experience as a teacher of English and German, having taught at schools, colleges, and universities in Cyprus and internationally.
