  • Moderated by Emmanuel Cohen-Hadria, Co-Founder, Member of the Executive Board, Diplomeds – The Council for Mediterranean Diplomacy

Panel focus:
The Mediterranean region continues to grapple with a wide range of conflicts—whether open, frozen, inter-state, or civil—yet it remains without an institutional framework specifically dedicated to security, conflict prevention and resolution. In this context, it is crucial to examine how existing Mediterranean organisations can be effectively leveraged to support peacebuilding efforts. The Union for the Mediterranean, with its broad convening power and inclusive membership, and the Anna Lindh Foundation with its equally inclusive model and intercultural dialogue mandate, along with other regional or sub-regional sectorial initiatives, represent key assets that could be more ambitiously leveraged to foster cooperation and advance dialogue initiatives.
