On the 18th of April 2018, the Friedrich-Ebert-Stiftung was honoured once again to co-host another event on “New Law on Associations and Foundations” at the KEPLI – Centres for Youth Information in Larnaca.
In co-organizing with the Civil Society Advocates, the event was addressing the new law on Associations and Foundations in Cyprus. This law affects most NGOs in Cyprus, requiring many changes on the law they operate and provides significant changes in their mode of operation.
In June 2017 a new law for Associations and Foundations in Cyprus has been adopted by the Parliament which introduces several changes that NGOs are required to adapt to. Associations and Foundations will require detailed information and support in order to meet the requirements of the new law. The presentations will include step-by-step instructions on what each Association or Foundation will have to do in order to meet the requirements of the new law. The event will also serve to answer questions and concerns as well as to collect unclear points that need to be further clarified with the relevant Ministry.
