Last week, we had the pleasure of presenting the key findings of the 2025 Corruption Perceptions Report at an engaging event in northern Nicosia.
Based on responses from 352 participants, the report shows that northern Cyprus scored 24 out of 100 points down from 26 last year and well below the global average of 42. It also ranks behind Turkey (31 points) and the Republic of Cyprus (55 points).
Overall, northern Cyprus is now ranked 150th out of 182 countries, marking a drop of 10 places compared to the previous year. It is positioned alongside Bangladesh, the Central African Republic, and Paraguay, while Congo, Eswatini, and Iran rank just below.
According to the findings, 73% of respondents perceive corruption as very widespread. It is seen as particularly prevalent in the allocation and leasing of publicly owned land and buildings, while being less common in law enforcement and the provision of social services.
The full report in Turkish and an English fact sheet will soon be available on our website.
