Together with our core partner Diplomeds - The Council for Mediterranean Diplomacy we are excited to announce our new flagship initiative: "Morocco and Algeria Beyond the Divide: From Costs of Non-Engagement to Pathways for Cooperation."
The joint report delves into the high costs of non-cooperation between Algeria and Morocco while outlining actionable pathways for renewed collaboration. It covers key areas such as trade, energy, migration, and people-to-people ties, exploring how bridging divides could unlock immense potential – not just for the two countries, but also for the EU, the Maghreb, and beyond. It also draws lessons from other conflicts in the Mediterranean where adversaries have found pathways to cooperation.
The report includes 8 actionable policy recommendations for local, regional, and international stakeholders, encouraging them to take the stalemate seriously and invest in fostering dialogue.
You can find the report in our publication section or via this link in our MENA section.
Edited by Emmanuel Cohen-Hadria and Dr. Camille Limon, with contributions from leading experts: Intissar Fakir, Harry Tzimitras, Fátima Fernández Fernández, Ignacio Urbasos, Adel Ourabah, Khalid Mouna, John O'Rourke, and Alberto Rizzi.
