Six Facts. One Future: The Eastern Mediterranean

Join us for a webinar on the role of water scarcity in shaping conflict, stability, and migration dynamics across the Eastern Mediterranean.

In the first webinar of the series, we focus on water.

Part I Water: When systems fail, people move. Water is no longer an environmental risk, it is a driver of instability.

Across the Eastern Mediterranean, growing pressure on water resources is intensifying competition, exacerbating conflict, and accelerating displacement and migration. Policy makers and political leaders can no longer delay decisions on this critical resource.

Dr. Fadi Comair will discuss the choices that face politicians and policy makers in addressing chronic water scarcity which is fueling conflict risks and migration; and how to turn water resilience into a strategic priority.

The discussion will take place on Wednesday, February 11, 2026 at 4-5 pm (Nicosia time), respectively 3-4 pm (Berlin time). Please register by Tuesday, February 10, via office.cyprus(at)fes.de
